3 months to go!

Ok ok ok ... everyone keeps asking for belly pictures. I'm not that anxious to post a gallery of pics when I feel like a BOAT, but here are a couple. She is definately growing and kicking like crazy ... when I want to sleep that is :-)

Pregnancy comes with many sacrifices. The most important one for me is missing my Diet Coke!!! I swear I dream about it at night, LOL. So, my dear husband bought me an original Diet Coke pillow from the Coca-Cola Company ... how sweet :-)

Weekend NYC Trip

While Chad was in New Jersey for work, I decided to make a weekend trip up north so we could go to NYC and take advantage of the fact that he was only an hour away! We already did the main "tourist" things back in May, but we missed out on some important shopping like MACY'S!!! I think I could've spent all day there! It was neat that the store was already decorated for Christmas on ALL 10 FLOORS! (and yes, we pushed our way through the crowds on each and every floor!) We had an amazing time ... even in the pouring rain!

Next, we drove to Philly to tour the Independence Exhibits downtown. We saw the Liberty Bell, Betsy Ross' house and where the Constitution was signed etc. I've had my history lesson for the year :) Chad was a trooper going through Macy's and shopping for hours ... so this was my gift to him ... hahaha JK! Afterwards, we ate at "Geno's" - a world famous original Philly Cheesesteak Restaruant.

20 Week Update

Well baby Penley and I had our 20 week checkup today ... we're half way there! The ultra-sound measured every part of her body including the cord etc. to make sure she's progressing well. The doctor said she was perfect ... heartbeat of 158 and already weighs 11 oz! Here are a few close-up pictures.

By the way ... we have finally decided on name ... Madison Leigh Penley!

Hands on her little cheeks!
I have 10 fingers and 2 hands!
My 2 little feet!
I'm still a GIRL :-)

Nursery ... In Progress!

Well, as I have been getting fatter ... the nursery has been getting prettier! My granddad helped Chad put together the crib a few weeks ago, so after all the major furniture was set up and we confirmed we were having a GIRL (woo hoo!) we got busy painting! Chad spent all weekend painting her room light and hot pink, then dad came over and helped install the chair rails. It all turned out SO pretty!!! We are now waiting on the bedding & curtains to be completed (which takes approx. 4 weeks), the black rocker to be upholstered and "her" name to go over the crib. Thank God we have 9 months to get all of this together! This week I have my follow up ultra-sound at the genetics center on Thursday ... so hopefully I will have even a better picture of her than the last one to share :-)

It's a GIRL !!!

Technology is awesome ... after only 3 days (instead of the usual 7 - 10) we received my ultra-screen results back and everything looks wonderful. There are no signs of any genetic problems and the baby is developing perfectly :-) And most importantly ... we found out we're having a baby GIRL !!! (I might just be a little excited ... and so is dad!)

Baby Penley 3 months

Now that I am 3 months along ... Chad, I and mom went downtown today to the Medical Center for Genetics Testing to get a detailed ultra-screen as well as blood work done. This test pretty much rules out any possible complications that are sometimes caused by genetic defects and to make sure everything's developing properly. As you can see above, he/she is doing well and the doctor didn't see any problems at all from the ultra-screen. The nurse was amazed how active he/she was and the heart-rate we heard also sounded great. More importantly ... we opted for me to take an early blood test that's offered to determine the gender and we should find out the results within a week or so ... yea!!! Technology is a wonderful thing! We will let you all know as soon as we find out :-)
