It's a GIRL !!!

Technology is awesome ... after only 3 days (instead of the usual 7 - 10) we received my ultra-screen results back and everything looks wonderful. There are no signs of any genetic problems and the baby is developing perfectly :-) And most importantly ... we found out we're having a baby GIRL !!! (I might just be a little excited ... and so is dad!)

Baby Penley 3 months

Now that I am 3 months along ... Chad, I and mom went downtown today to the Medical Center for Genetics Testing to get a detailed ultra-screen as well as blood work done. This test pretty much rules out any possible complications that are sometimes caused by genetic defects and to make sure everything's developing properly. As you can see above, he/she is doing well and the doctor didn't see any problems at all from the ultra-screen. The nurse was amazed how active he/she was and the heart-rate we heard also sounded great. More importantly ... we opted for me to take an early blood test that's offered to determine the gender and we should find out the results within a week or so ... yea!!! Technology is a wonderful thing! We will let you all know as soon as we find out :-)

Abby's 1st SWIMMING Experience

We went to Pearland to Chad's uncle's house this past weekend for his grandfather and uncle's birthday. They just put in a new pool and poor little (or big) Abby has never expereinced a pool before! After scoping out the situation for about 5 minutes she dove in and for some reason or another the girl didn't sink! She had a great work-out!

.... thinking about it .....

.... daddy's helping her get a little more brave ....

.... it must be OK if her friends are doing it ..... !
POOPED OUT! Ready for nap time :-)

SHE/he's alive !!!

Well I went in today for my 10 week check-up appointment and everything seems to be going well with Baby Penley. I think the morning sickness phase is almost over (WOO HOO!) but my energy hasn't decided to return yet... Anyway, since mom was with me for this appointment the doctor was excited to pull out the heart monitor machine for "grandma"! After searching around for a few seconds (which literally seemed like hours) we finally got to hear the heartbeat for the first time ever! It was awesome!!! The rate was perfect at 172. My next appointment is to get an ultra-screen to rule out any complications (which I should be fine since I'm well under 35 years old) and more importantly to find out the GENDER!!! Technology is awesome! We will keep you all updated!
