Chad and I made a weekend trip to Ontario, Canada to see Niagara Falls! It was only about a 4 hour trip away from us. Naturally, as we usually do .... we pick the prime weekend to make this trip. It was only about 28 degrees when we arrived but raining and windy - so we froze. Then ... it got better. We woke up Sunday and the temp. dropped even more and the windchill was about NEGATIVE 20 with 40 mph winds with snow blowing everywhere. I literally almost tipped over and Abby almost blew away :-( Besides the weather, we enjoyed seeing the Falls, taking pictures, going to restaurants and hanging out on the main drag with neat stores like the Hershey & Coca-Cola factory, MGM studio, Ripley's Believe It Or Not, Haunted Houses etc. We enjoyed being together this weekend (it was our hearly Valentine's Day trip) since I will be moving back to Texas next weekend while Chad finishes up his work assignment here. Hopefully he'll be home soon with me.... Abby & I will miss him bunches!

Trip to Canada
Since we "had" to stay home from work and suffer last Friday due to a bad snow storm... we decided to finally venture off and take the bridge over to Canada (which is only 20 mins from us) and check out Windsor. We were not tooooo impressed except for Casino Windsor ... they say it's better to go in the spring time for tours, riding the ferry etc. Anyway, it was cool to check it out and we plan on going even further next weekend to spend the night @ Niagara Falls !!!

New Years Eve
All 3 of us dressed up .... :-) We found a really neat place to go eat ... Coach Insignia - the 2nd tallest restaurant in the US on top of the GM building in Detroit. http://www.mattprenticerg.com/urc/coach.asp It is right in the middle of downtown near casinos - which we went to next. Unfortunately, we didn't win the big bucks and were home before midnight (we are definately getting OLD - ugh) ... due us getting lost & the casinos being WAY over-crowded! Anyway, it was cool to check them out and see all the lights and decorations (& to make Chad dress up!) Here's some pics :

Basketball Game
Talk about sacrifice ... JK. I was a good wife and got Chad a pair of basketball tickets since the Houston Rockets were playing the Detroit pistons the weekend of Christmas. Naturally, we lost ... but it was cool to check out their stadium etc up here ... I have to say the Toyota Center is much better in H-town :-)

Greenville Village
We ventured out to see some lights in Greenville Village about 30 minutes away in MI one weekend. This is where the original Henry Ford museum is. It's huge ... it has original houses and his original methods of transportation spread out over an area as big as a college campus. We froze most of the time ... so we only made it around through some of it. Here are some pics...

the road trip
Chad & I & Abby took the big trip up north 1 week before Christmas in a blizzard ... 30 LOVELY hours from Texas. We have settled in (somewhat) in the great state of Michigan and working about 30 minutes away in Ohio. Let's just say a big moving truck ... pulling our truck ... plus rain ... plus ice ... plus wind doesn't mix too well. I know we were apart for like 6 months and had a lot to talk about - but I think we almost killed eachother the last 10 hours. Hell, I get cranky driving 4 hours from Houston to Dallas! Abby definately gets the "good traveler" award this time! It's been a big adjustment leaving 90 degree weather to snow and wind ... but a white Christmas was nice for once :) Abby is now an official snow dog :-)
