First Weeks of Life

Madison had a really good first 2 weeks of life :) She is sleeping almost 3 hours at a time and on a pretty good schedule. Amazingly, she can already follow your voice and fingers from side to side with her little eyes and has even begun to pick up her neck by her self! We go to the doctor Tuesday for her 2 week check-up, but we're pretty sure she's already gained the 10 oz. of weight back that she lost the first week. Miss Piggy likes to eat!!!
We're not so fond of bath time :(
Happy ... with a full tummy :)

Madison Has Arrived!!!

Our little angel has finally arrived :) Madison Leigh Penley was born on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 @ 11:14 pm. She weighs 6 pounds, 14 oz. and is 19 inches long. It was a LONG day ... after a total of 15 hours and 2 epidurals (1 finally worked thank God) ... she made her appearance. It was well worth the pain and the wait! We are all doing great and going home tomorrow (Thursday) yea! She is just absolutely precious and perfect in every way.... and hardly ever cries (so far!) She has daddy's eyes, hair and chin ... and the rest mom claims :) Here are some hospital pictures so far and we'll definately update them later this week with her trip home etc. Thanks for all your prayers to get us through such a long day!

The big day is coming ...

After my doctor's visit last Thursday ... and me explaining how it hurts just to WALK 90 % of the time ... it was determined that little Madison may need some "encouragement" to come into this world. She has dropped down as far as she can (so she's doing her part!) but I'm not progressing in any other areas (not to get technical...) Therefore, we are excited that I am being induced early Tuesday morning ... so hopefully everything works out and she will arrive by Tuesday evening! Please keep Chad and I (and Madison) in your prayers this coming week. Pictures are soon to come ...

Baby Maverick

Bryan (Chad's brother) & his wife Brooke just welcomed their first little one into this crazy world of ours today around 1pm. We were able to make a day trip to Austin to see Baby Maverick! He weighed around 7 lbs. 14 oz. and is 21 inches long! He's just precious :) Hopefully his cousin Madison will hurry up and join him.... :-)

2 more weeks...

We are definately on the countdown, thank goodness! At my last doctor's visit the baby was very active (which I'm sure the brownie I had with breakfast helped out some too). She is now considered full term and weighs a little over 6 1/2 pounds. I would put a picture of her face on here but it didn't turn out too good. She's dropped pretty far and is wedged inbetween my bones (nice feeling by the way). My blood pressure was on the high side so it's a good thing this is my last week of work .... now just the waiting game. We'll keep you updated :)

I'm going to POP!

This has to be the LONGEST month of my life. I have had a wonderful pregnancy, but now it's just uncomfortable and she needs to come OUT! My doctor said she has completely dropped and I am starting to dilate. As of now, she already weighs 5 pounds, 13 oz. At this rate, going full term is going to produce a big girl! I go back to the dotor on Thursday and we'll see how much she's progressed. We'll keep you updated :-)

Goodbye 2008...

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year.... 2008 flew by fast! Chad and I both had 2 weeks off, which was nice :) We went to Victoria on Christmas Day to visit Chad's family and to Dallas the following weekend to visit my side of the family. I am still growing everyday - we can't believe we only have a few weeks left until Madison is here! The doctor said she is about 4 1/2 pounds right now and has completely turned (vertical and head down) and is frequently pusihing her little legs up into my ribs! Let's just say that she's pushing down and spreading out bones in my body that's NOT fun! I am going weekly to the doctor ... so hopefully we will have some exciting news sooooon!
